Beginner to Intermediate
In this introductory course to sculpting students will learn the basic methods and techniques to realize their artistic vision in 3-dimensions. The focus for this course will be sculpting a bust in clay (Human, creature, automaton, or otherwise). Throughout this course we will be working through a step-by-step sculpting method to take students ideas from the initial design to a hyper-detailed finished piece
- We will cover numerous aspects of the sculpting process including
- Concept and design
- Materials and tools
- Highlighting the use of anatomy to help breathe life into the sculpture
There will also be discussions on the applications of sculpture including...
- Molding and casting of sculpted parts
- Digital sculpture and 3D printing
- Sculpting for special effects makeup and costuming
If you have an interest in making monsters, or maybe want to explore fine art sculpture. Our intent with this course is to provide you with a strong foundation to pursue your goals.
Please keep in mind there will be an additional cost of a minimum $35 for materials. Information regarding materials will be covered in the first class.

We will go over class materials the first day of class. There will be an addtional supply charge. Base price for class supplies will be a minumium of an additional $35 to the class fee.
